We’re proud to share that Bluewood Homes Gold Coast has won a Master Builders Queensland award. Riverside House, our knockdown rebuild in Currumbin Waters, was named the winner of the Individual Home from $700,000 up to $850,000 category at the 2025 Master Builders Queensland Gold Coast Housing & Construction Awards.
The Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards recognise excellence in building across the state. Regional awards, including the Gold Coast event, are judged by industry panels who look closely at workmanship, design and finish. Regional winners can then go on to be considered at the state awards.
For a builder, a Master Builders Queensland award is recognition from people who know construction inside out. For our clients, it’s independent confirmation of the standard we aim to deliver on every home.
Riverside House is a coastal Hamptons-style home in Currumbin Waters, built on a 716 m² block after the original low-set house was demolished. The owner wanted high ceilings, large open covered spaces inside and out, and a home made for entertaining family and friends.
The site sits close to the river, so the home was elevated to meet flood requirements, with the main living level raised around 1.9 metres. The design uses that height to its advantage, giving the home street presence and privacy and letting the deck and pool sit together on one level. A raked ceiling with exposed rafters, large stacker doors, layered gables and weatherboard cladding complete the look.
Riverside House wasn’t a one-off showpiece. It was built the same way we build every home: Built To Requirement™, designed around one block, one brief and one family. The same team, processes and attention to detail that earned a Master Builders Queensland award go into every Bluewood home, whether it’s a first home, a duplex or a custom home.
Award-winning work also comes from planning. Flood overlays, demolition, services and approvals were all worked through before construction started, which helped keep the build on track.
